Read, Sing, Play and Create rhythms using the rhythms ta the quarter note, ti-ti the eighth notes the quarter rest, ties, half note, whole note, tikatika sixteenth notes and new rhythms – syncopation (syn-co-pa), eighth-sixteenth combinations and dotted half notes in 2, 3 and 4 meter

Read, Sing, Play and Create melodies using the pitches of the extended pentatonic scale: low sol, low la, do, re, mi, sol, la and high do – do-centered and la-centered

Describe, Perform and Move to demonstrate dynamics – fortissimo, forte, mezzo forte, mezzo piano, piano, and pianissimo, including crescendo and decrescendo

Describe, Perform and Move to demonstrate tempo – presto, allegro, moderato, andante and largo

Describe, Perform and Move to demonstrate articulation – staccato and legato

Describe, Sing, Play, Create and Move to large and small musical forms including Rondo form (ABACA)

Identify and Describe electronic and keyboard instruments as well as soprano and alto voices

Read music using Absolute Letter Names and play on a soprano recorder

Perform American and Texan folk songs, including “Texas, Our Texas
