Cleaning Your Recorder
Here is some information on how to clean your recorder. Angel Halo recorders come with a cleaning rod and joint grease. The cleaning rod is for use with a thin piece of clean cloth. Thread it through the eye of the cleaning rod and use it to swab out moisture after playing. This will help reduce build up in your recorder, but make sure to clean the cloth periodically.
To sterilize the recorder (especially for after you have been sick), you have two options:
1. Separate the recorder and run it through a no-heated dry cycle on the top rack of your dishwasher.
2. Separate the recorder, soak it in warm, soapy water for 10 minutes, then wipe the outside clean.
Whichever method you choose, you will need to put a dab of joint grease onto the joints so the pieces of the recorder slide back together nicely. If you have any question please email me at tturner@mckinneyisd.net.
