John Williams
John Williams is one of the most famous film composers of the modern era. He was conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra for 12 years. He is currently artist-in-residence at Tanglewood. He has won 5 Oscars for Fiddler on the Roof (1971, adaptation), Jaws (1975, original score), Star Wars (1977, original score), E.T. – The Extra-Terrestrial (1982, original score), and Schindler’s List (1993, original score). He has been nominated a total of 45 times. His other works include music for the films Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Superman (1978), Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Arc (1981), Home Alone (1990), Jurrassic Park (1993), Saving Private Ryan (1998), A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001), and much more!
