Mussorgsky

Modest Mussorgsky

Mussorgsky was one of the Russian nationalist composers in the Romantic era known as the “Russian Five.” He was an officer in the Russian army and struggled to make a living as a composer. He continued to work on his compositions in his spare time. He left a number of unfinished works that were later edited and published by another composer, Rimsky-Korsakov.
